First, I want to say I can't imagine what these people are feeling in going through. However, my gut tells me this is not what they should do. Where is showing strength in Christ? Banding together to move forward?
I don't know, to me this just doesn't seem right.

Is the congregation supporting each other? Are other local congregations stepping in and providing support? There is no right or wrong in regards to the building.

I can understand wanting to rebuild. But if I were a member of the congregation I would push for tearing down the building(s) and reserve the area as a memorial garden. Perhaps a place to rest and reflect. And help put the true issues of life into perspective. Perhaps a new modest building adjacent the memorial park.

I thought they were deciding for it to be Razed it because the Insurance declared it a total loss?

As I understand it so far it is the building and not the congregation(Church) that is being razed. I am not convinced that this was the Pastors fist choice, as it seems like a number of the congregants are emotionally disturbed/traumatized and do not want to enter that building again. So, I think that the pastor and the congregation are going to move forward together but in a new building. Perhaps they could also meet in private homes, too?
This is very similar to what the pastor claims he would like to do:
"The pastor expressed his desire that perhaps the best way forward is to have the church demolished and replaced with a prayer garden,"

I would think now would not be the time to make those decisions as it just happened. Emotions are still high.
I just see this as allowing that guy to win.

I wonder what decision ended up being made? I haven't heard anything about the incident recently?

No idea. I haven't heard any news either. Nor about Las Vegas for that matter.
