“If people are totally depraved, sinful to our core, then how do we explain seemingly virtuous non-Christians, people who have never been regenerated by the Holy Spirit? Doesn’t the doctrine of total depravity tell us that these people shouldn’t exist?” (link)
How would you answer the question above?

Evidence of Total Depravity as most teach it, is contrary to Scripture.Jesus taught it was impossible to enter heaven without being born again. not that humans couldn't be decent, & Virtuous, even keeping of the ten commandments.

Motive is everything. Jesus defined righteousness by his life of seeking God's glory in all he thought, said or did. And Paul admonishes us in being motivated by God's love through the Holy Spirit's indwelling. So nobody does anything good for the right reason which makes all that they do out to be sin. People have ulterior motives that always wind up in self gratification in all they do.
